Those first days after birth are a blur of softness, wonder, exhaustion, and love you didn’t know could exist. My newborn and motherhood sessions are designed to slow time down, to capture the connection between you and your baby in a calm, natural, and emotionally rich way.
This isn’t about stiff posing or overly styled scenes. It’s about preserving how it feels to become a mother. The way your baby curls into you. The quiet moments between feeds. The tenderness that lives in the ordinary.
When Sessions Take Place
I photograph newborns around 10 days after birth whenever possible. This is when babies are still sleepy, flexible, and naturally settle into gentle, organic positions.
If life feels unpredictable (because… newborn life), don’t worry. We stay flexible with timing and adjust based on how you and baby are doing.
What These Sessions Feel Like
My approach is calm, unrushed, and baby-led.
You don’t need to perform. You don’t need to know how to pose. I guide gently while allowing space for real interaction.
Sessions focus on:
Natural light (or created) and soft movement
Connection over perfection
Your bond as mother and child
Minimal props, timeless styling
Creating images that feel emotional, not trendy
Your only job is to show up and be present with your baby.
Styling & Preparation
You’ll receive simple prep guidance before your session so you’re never guessing.
For moms, I recommend:
Soft, neutral tones
Flowing fabrics
Simple textures
Pieces that feel comfortable and elegant
For babies:
Wrapped, minimal layers
Bare skin when possible
Neutral blankets or heirloom pieces
Everything is designed to keep the imagery timeless and focused on connection, not distraction.
Hair & Makeup
Hair and makeup are complimentary in each session; however, if you prefer to do your own, you can absolutely opt out of this service.
Most moms love the pampering and sitting back and enjoying this service, and you’ll be camera-ready without the stress.
I usually take baby solo shots during this makeup time, so it works out well for time management on the day.
Where sessions take place
We’ll do the newborn or motherhood session either at one of my studio spaces in the Denver Metro area or at your home, whatever works for you. Sometimes if siblings are involved, that changes the plans. They may do better in a different environment or they may do better at home.

Motherhood - Beyond the Newborn Phase
Motherhood sessions with older babies are about movement, curiosity, and the growing bond between you and your child.
By this stage, your baby is starting to show personality - the way they reach for you, laugh into your shoulder, explore and return back to your arms.
These sessions feel playful, intimate, and honest. Less about perfection, more about presence.
We create images that hold the rhythm of your days together - the snuggles, the pauses, the joy of watching your baby become who they’re meant to be, with you always as their safe place.

That’s completely okay, and it happens often. Sessions are baby‑led and unrushed. We pause for feeding, soothing, changing, and cuddling as needed. Some of the most meaningful images happen in those in‑between moments.

Totally valid and a lot of new moms feel this way.
You don’t need to look or feel perfect. My role is to guide you gently, use flattering light and movement, and create space where you can simply be present with your baby.
One day, you’ll be so happy you have these moments with your baby captured.

Even though I try and work as fast as possible, plan for about 1–2 hours, allowing time for feeding, settling, and slow pacing. Nothing is rushed.

Since we’ve done our maternity session already, you are now a pro in front of the camera, but I get it, there is a baby in the mix now, and you may not feel great.
Almost every mom feels this way at first. You’re never left wondering what to do. I guide softly and naturally so the focus stays on connection, not posing.

Just your baby, a few diapers, a feeding bottle if you use one, and yourself. I’ll guide you on styling beforehand so you don’t have to overthink it.

Yes. If you’d like to include them for a few moments, we’ll weave that in gently while keeping the heart of the session focused on you and your baby.
